PLANT TREES

OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

Brewing honest alcohol for a healthier planet doesn’t start and end with our kombucha. It influences every aspect of our business–including our packaging. That’s why, as of September of 2019, all of our six-packs will be sold in paperboard cartons rather than in plastic six-pack holders (helping us reduce plastic in our supply chain).

And it doesn’t end there. With the help of the National Forest Foundation (NFF), we’ll plant trees to replace those that were used to make the cartons in the first place. Through the NFF, we’re committed to sourcing paperboard and cardboard only from sustainably managed forests that plant only native trees. (Made possible by our friends at WestRock)

We still have work to do in eliminating plastic from our supply chain, but it’s a step in the right direction. Thanks for supporting us and our planet.

WHY DO WE CARE ABOUT TREES?

THEY CLEAN OUR AIR

Trees are natural filters for air pollutants by absorbing nitrogen oxides, ammonia, sulfur dioxide, and ozone. One acre of forestland releases enough clean oxygen for 18 people to breathe every year.

THEY FILTER OUR WATER

Trees have microbes living near their roots that clean any water that filters through.

THEY FOSTER BIODIVERSITY

50% of all plant and animal species, including 3,000+ fruits (like our acai berry), are native to rainforests.

THEY PREVENT EROSION

Trees’ roots slow water runoff and help hold soil together. This reduces natural disaster risk, minimizing the intensity of floods and landslides.

THEY DECREASE CLIMATE CHANGE

One acre of forestland alone sequesters the same amount of CO2 emitted by driving 26,000 miles every year. US national forests offset 10-20% of the country’s total CO2 emissions annually.

THEY KEEP US GROUNDED

Trees are one of the things that make spending me in nature so beautiful. They remind us to slow down, breathe, and take in our surroundings.
